Ch 2. Moving to Texas-Putting Our House Into Market

A few months after the spring cleaning and Richard's getting over with pnuemonia, we invited the realtor, Josie over to our house in Post Falls, Idaho to talk about putting our house into the market. We decided to move to Fort Worth, Texas for some reasons and also to begin our new lives. Richard had lived in Big Spring, Texas when he was the dental lab technican instructor at the college for the Deaf for 20 years before retiring and moving back to Washington state in 2001 when we were just dating. We had met in 1976 and were good friends for years. We were both raised in Spokane. We got married in the Summer of 2002 and lived in an apartment in Liberty Lake less then five miles from the Idaho border for two years before meeting Josie who helped us find a new house in Post Falls and since we liked her a lot we decided to have her put our house into the market for us. When we were talking about it, she suggested us to wait for three months before putting it into the market so we didn't have to pay taxes after owning our house for two years before selling it and we agreed with her. It gave us time to get rid of the stuff we didn't need by having three weekends of yard sales and taking the rest to the thrift store.
Some of our neighbors were sad to hear about our discussion to move and they offered to help us load the truck. They have been very nice to us and we would not trade them for anything.
Josie returned three months later and we got the house ready for the market. We were very excited about starting our new lives in Texas. I liked Texas since I was in the eastern Texas in 1997 with my youngest son, parents and two brothers to attend my mom's family reunion and fooling around in nine days. My oldest brother, Bob liked it there, also and wanted to move down there and told his wife about it when he got home but she on other side didn't want to leave her family and friends so they remain in Spokane. My mom was born in Denision an hour north of Dallas before moving to California when she was six with her family and relatives from her mother's side when there was no money in Texas during the Great Depression after her parents' divorce. Her dad stayed in Denision and later moved to Dallas. Former President Eisenhower was also born in Denision.

I will write more in my next post about turning down the buyers' offer after recieving the house inspection report which Josie, Richard and I didn't like.

Ducks on Spokane's Manito Park pond during the freezing cold day at 12 degrees above, brrrr! I took several pictures of them without realizing that it was our last winter in the Pacific Northwest before moving to Texas. I saw the picture of them in the newspaper the day before and decided to go there to take some pictures. People fed them with some duck food and bread crumbs.

Hi Lisa!

Nice house! We put our house on the market in early July and no such luck since then. The market is not even good around here.

We are thinking about taking it off the market and start talking about applying to lower payments if possible.

If that's the case, then we might rent it out or just me living here while Jes is off to Tri-Cities, we are not sure.

Oh boy, so many going on so little time to think. :-)

It's 12:19am so I will come back later and write more cuz I have stuff to say lol... but I need to sleep. Nity nite!

You have a nice, cozy house, Lisa!

We bought our second house five years and loved it!

Deb Ann,
Thank you.
We had sold the house in North Idaho in order to move to Texas in 2005. We had lived in Washington state before moving to North Idaho in 2003. We bought a new house here early 2006 in Texas and we love it.

I enjoyed reading your blogs when you sharing your experiences with moving from home to home.

I was reading one of the vlog from other vlogger "Got More Milk" about a guy squirting milk through nose and you mentioned Randy B in your comment, was it one of the Bessener kid from WSD?
